NEFLIN 2013 ATC Gallery

Congratulations! You are the proud owner of a hand-made artist trading card (ATC). Artist trading cards are small (2.5" x 3.5") works of mixed media art created to be traded with other artists.

This year Artistic Literacy was honored to be asked to create Artist Trading Cards for NEFLIN's 20th Anniversary Annual Meeting. We chose to create 9 different designs and create series of 6-13 cards each to reflect NEFLIN's theme: Sea to Shining Sea.

Each of the cards pictured below is a sample of each of the series. All reflect a nautical and literary theme.

As librarians, we have found that using ATCs as the basis for teen and tween art programs at the library is very effective. Because they are so small, they are not intimidating. It is also easy to make a number of them in a reasonable amount of time. We also like to use the trading aspect to increase social interactions among the teens in our programs.
